THRESHOLD

My work stems from the desire to really “be somebody,” from survival through escapism, from ambition and failure. Drawing inspiration from a range of personal belongings and interests, including antiques, costumes, found footage and photographs, reality TV, everyday performances and fame, I attempt to validate, complicate, and critique my identity as an artist, a woman, a failed dancer, a closet musician, a fame-less icon.
